Ghost Town Release, Infina Collab, Witchy and the Coven Collab, AND Music Video Reviews???? OH MY!

I'm doing a lot. I'm excited though!

I'll talk about the Ghost Town drop first!

I wrote ghost town in 2020 when I was living in a basement getting my life back together after my life really fell apart. A lot of things ended at that time, and it was very hard. I won't get into it too much, but I will say there was a death, I took on responsibilities because of that death that I wasn't really prepared for, Covid hit, and I left my ex that I lived with for about 6 years.

Crazy year. I'm in a much better place now.

I was definitely clinging to making music and hanging out with my best friend who you see a lot in my fireside shadow content. Heather.

Without her, I don't know what I would have done.

She really supported me at that time.

Her and I were hanging out in my little basement room, she was working on writing her book, I was writing music in my DAW. There was something so peaceful about us just working on our dreams like that, despite how hard everything else was at that time.

I look back on it fondly.

I was playing my keyboard and came up with the piano hook, showed it to her and she looked excited. It was really wholesome.

I built ghost town's instrumental off of that piano hook. It was so exciting building that song. I tried to incorporate all things ghost wherever I could.

Creepy piano's, tried to reimagine ghost hunting equipment as instruments and make them rhythmic, music box sounds, etc.

I really felt like I was "floating through a ghost town" at the time. The lyrics are about looking back at memories after you learn dark truths about things and how polarizing it is to think about them. There's the way you remember it, and there's what really happened. You just feel a million miles away. Like you're floating above your own body, watching what happened to you with dissonance.

It helped me process a lot when writing that song. I hope it can do the same for someone else some day. That's a dream of mine.

Shooting the music video was awesome!

We found ruins to film at which was unbelievable. Recording and performing in ruins felt so unreal. People would pass by sometimes, and some were into it and some thought we were freaks.

At the end of the day though, it was worth it. Go ahead and judge me. B)

I went for a Classic Horror Movie story for the music video. It doesn't directly correlate to the message of the song, but I think the feeling is very similar.

Looking desperately for help, getting frustrated when it doesn't come, someone finally does and you accept the help quickly, but accepting that help was the wrong decision.

I'll let you watch the music video for more context.

Okay, now the Infina Collab!

10/10 working with them on the little collab we did!

We realized we were both releasing spooky singles on the same day at the same time! That got so many ideas rolling right away!

We discussed lots of different avenues for what to do. We landed on Shadow Bunnies.

I LOVE THE SHADOW BUNNIES. They were so fun to make!

We kept going though, and also landed on H3 MAKING A VIDEO GAME!

We worked together on how to combine our ideas. We wanted this to be epic as hell.

So, I was kidnapped and you all had to save me! We had to follow the bunny down the rabbit hole of teasers and easter eggs while playing a fun game.

Words just can't describe how cool it was to be a part of this!

I also made merch with designs I made for the game with our Shadow Bunnies.

I love them.

On to the Witchy and The Coven Collab!

Ah yes, Witchy. I knew I wanted to work with him on a song the second I heard his music.

So when he asked me to sing on one of his songs, it was a NO BRAINER.

I wasn't sure exactly where I was going to go with it. What he sent me had like upbeat garage punk vibes. I was so into it.

Halloween and Spooky Season was right around the corner, and I started writing about being a slasher. I was just giggling to myself writing graphic violent lyrics.

Sent it back, and he welcomed it.

Especially the scream at the end.

My boyfriend scared the shit out of me by appearing out of nowhere when I was recording vocals.

It had to stay in the song. We made that shit work!

My boyfriend listened and said it had "What's New Scooby Doo" Theme song vibes which made my whole life. I hear it. I love that about it.

I'm so excited for that song to drop! At the time of writing this, it's still got a few days.

Can't wait for you all to jam your new halloween JAMS.

THERE'S SO MUCH GOOD SHIT HAPPENING FOR HALLOWEEN IN THE THREADS INDIE SCENE.

Maneframe is doing things, Spectre and Mom's knife....I can't even name them all.

And finally, reviewing indie music videos.

I am not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant to take this on, as I am already drowning a little in everything else I'm doing in preparation for things to come.

But the urge to do this is so strong!

I was really inspired by Infina's music show they do, and how Neccos For Breakfast has been incorporating the music scene with #communityovercompetition and I really really wanted to also contribute and immerse myself even more into the fantastic music community.

I had made a post asking people to share their music videos on threads one day for fun, and I had a BLAST watching them and talking with everyone about their videos.

The thought just stayed in my head, pestering me.

What if I make a youtube channel doing this?

I mean, I am very passionate about music videos, making music videos, love the music community, love watching people grow into themselves with their creative processes...

I love trying to see the world through other creative people's art.

I have to try!

I'm doing it!

I double checked with a threads post asking if people would want this content and with an overwhelming yes response all the way around, I am happy to say I am going to make this happen. <3

It's just another way for us all to stay connected and grow together.

Anyway. Longest Blog post yet, there was a lot to cover.

<3 Until next time.

STREAM GHOST TOWN...please :)
